11th European Ordination Program participant

I’m Martin from Berlin, Germany. This week I turn 27, and it feels especially meaningful because I am ordaining together with 40 monks from many different countries. It is the first time we have been so many, and that makes this moment very special.

The ordination day itself was unforgettable. People from all over came to support us, and I feel deeply thankful to everyone who was part of it.

Before I joined this program, the last three months had been very stressful. I was working too much, chasing money and trying to please everyone, and nothing really made me happy. Since arriving here I meditate every day with the monks. Their teaching and the practice have helped me gain more control over myself, more inner peace, more happiness, and greater mindfulness.
